Liverpool’s summer transfer plans will become clearer in the coming weeks when the expected announcement of Arne Slot as manager is finally done.
Slot is fully expected to be the next Liverpool manager and after Jurgen Klopp’s departure after this weekend, Michael Edwards and co will be getting to work on everything.
One of the key matters will be around transfers. Slot is bound to want some new players to come in, while the likes of Thiago and Joel Matip are leaving, meaning there’re gaps in the squad.
Indeed, when it comes Matip, Liverpool might already have their replacement lined up.
And that replacement could come in the form of Eintracht Frankfurt star, William Pacho.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool’s interest in William Pacho
Speaking for GiveMeSport, Romano has suggested that Pacho is definitely a player of interest to Liverpool, who have scouted him this year.
“At the moment I’m hearing Pacho has been one of the players that they’ve been monitoring. They’ve been really attentive to the Eintracht situation, so they appreciate the way they play and they believe that there are some players with really good talent there,” Romano said.
“Liverpool have been scouting and following the player, but there is still no negotiation between clubs or on the player’s side to the club. It’s still early.”
Pacho clearly admired by Liverpool
Romano’s update here on Pacho to Liverpool is not brand new news in itself but it does show that the interest is there.
TBR Football has exclusively reported previously that both Liverpool and Man United have sent scouts over to Germany to watch Pacho and this just reaffirms that report.
Further reports have also suggested the Reds could pay around £51m for Pacho and then even send him back out on loan immediately.
Regardless of what happens, it does seem that Liverpool want a new defender and the ‘powerful‘ Pacho is obviously a player of interest.
